Thank you all for the continued support and flexibility as we continue to work together during this challenging time. Once again, the safety and wellbeing of our entire community is the top priority, so more than anything, we are encouraging everyone to follow the guidance of DC Health at https://coronavirus.dc.gov/. Below are a few updates from questions we have received from the last few days:
Main Office Hours: As of now, the main office will be available for visits and calls from 9:30 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. on the following dates: Monday, March 16, Tuesday, March 17, Wednesday, March 18, Thursday, March 19, Friday, March 20, Monday, March 23, Tuesday, March 24.
Work Packets: As of Thursday, March 19th, hardcopy packets for all grades will be available for pick-up in the main office (available from March 19th - 24th) and available online for all families starting Friday, March 20th at bit.ly/DCPS_ICP. These activities have been designed to extend prior learning and engage students during the period of school closure. Any online or at-home work will not count for credit, but students are encouraged to complete the assignments to continue progressing academically and social-emotionally.
Supplemental Grocery Support: We have started a GoFundMe to raise funds that will be used to purchase grocery store gift cards for Ludlow-Taylor families that could use meal support over the coming weeks. If interested in donating, please visit: https://www.gofundme.com/f/support-ludlow-taylor-families. Please contact Principal Smith directly at Andrew.Smith2@k12.dc.gov or the main office (202-698-3244) if your family could benefit from the gift cards. We have raised nearly $5,000 already!
Online Support: One of the resources for families on this site is Clever, which is DCPS’ gateway to many of our digital learning applications. Visit https://clever.com/in/dcpsk12 to access the programs used by grade in school. Students will login using their student ID and password. Please contact our technology lead, Mr. White at Kevoy.White@k12.dc.gov or your student’s homeroom teacher for any technological support.
Techonology Support: We have chromebooks/laptops that can be signed out for students in K-5. Please reach out to Principal Smith directly at Andrew.Smith2@k12.dc.gov if your family would benefit from one over the break.
We are wishing everyone to stay safe and healthy.
Sincerely,
Andrew Smith
