DESCRIPTION:Any interested caregivers of ECE (PK3 and PK4) students are invited to join us for an ECE Committee kick-off meeting Wednesday\, October 9 at 7:30pm at Irregardless (502 H St NE).  The ECE Committee supports ECE teachers by providing support for field trips\, in-school activities\, and a week-long celebration for Week of the Young Child (April 5-11). Attending the kick-off is completely optional\, and you do not need to attend to be on the committee – just an opportunity for anyone interested to meet face-to-face before we settle into a regular schedule of virtual meetings for the rest of the school year.

SUMMARY:Caregiver Orientation and Caregiver Workshops on the Healthy Relationships Project (6PM)
DESCRIPTION:This virtual meeting will provide caregivers with an introduction to the Healthy Relationships Project (HRP). HRP is a health-based\, developmentally appropriate\, trauma-informed child sexual abuse prevention curriculum for children in grades Pre-K to 5th grade. This curriculum was developed by Prevent Child Abuse Vermont and has been implemented in 29 states and the District of Columbia for over 30 years. HRP is not a curriculum about sexual education; instead\, it is a curriculum that helps children build skills to identify feelings that make them safe or unsafe\, identify boundaries\, use anatomically correct terms\, and identify safe adults. \nAs a Parent/Guardian/Caregiver: \n\nYou will be invited to attend workshops on topics relating to the prevention of child sexual abuse during the semester.\nYou will be asked to participate in periodic online surveys about your knowledge\, attitudes\, and behaviors regarding child sexual abuse prevention.\nA small number of caregivers from each school will be invited to participate in a one-on-one virtual interview with a researcher from the evaluation team to share your thoughts and experiences.\n\nLearn more in this letter from Mr. Stafford.
