DESCRIPTION:Location: Zoom\n\n\n\nDetails:\n\n\nJoin us online on Monday\, January 25\, 2027\, for our Family Empowerment Series training “Transitions: Post-Secondary Transition Planning.“ \nIn this session\, we will learn more about transition planning for students who receive special education services. While post-secondary transition plans begin at age 14 in the District of Columbia\, we recommend this session to families with students of all ages – it’s never too early or too late to learn about transition strategies and supports! \nWe will cover important topics such as \n\nPost-secondary transition plans and when they start\,\nDiploma versus Certificate tracks\,\nFrequently asked questions\, and\nAdditional supports and services to guide you and your student throughout the process.\n\nWant to study up early? Check out our office’s YouTube page featuring a series of six dynamic videos on Special Education in DC! All videos are available in English and Spanish with open captioning. Visit our page on YouTube: youtube.com/@DCSpecialEducationHub/playlists for all 12 videos! \nREGISTER HERE \nAttending our Family Empowerment Series is a great opportunity for caregivers to receive information and ask questions about how best to support their students with disabilities. Don’t let this fantastic opportunity pass you by!
